Baby Axo & its Hot Air Balloon

Baby Axo is enjoying summer on it hot air balloon

I searched in my workshop for the best fabrics to make this piece, I love the flower prints the most, because they remind me of my trip to central Mexico, going to the fabric stores is an adventure! I walked through the crowded isles, touching and feeling the fabrics and choosing the perfect ones. Those two flower prints are so colorful, they just caught my eye.

When I finished the balloon, I decided to adorn it like the ones I have seen in Julius Verne’s Around The world in 80 Days illustrations, they look so elegant and fun. I embroidered a daisy on top.

I made the basket with another set of fabrics, this time remnants from other projects, I had so many memories working on this piece!

Of course, it’s the best ride for a baby axolótl, so I put Baby Axo in it and it’s so adorable! What do you think?
